Katie practices in both family law and civil litigation. Her unconventional and varied legal background brings a unique perspective and diverse skillset to her work, and provides her with the tools to address some of the more challenging legal issues.
Katie earned her Juris Doctorate from the Ohio State University Moritz College of Law where she served on Law Review as a managing editor. She was chosen with 3 other students to represent the school at the National Security Crisis Invitational at Georgetown Law where her team participated in a real-world crisis situation judged by top U.S. national security officials. She was also selected to sit on the James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute Foundation Board as a Student Fellow where she assisted the general counsel with addressing legal issues and developing policy.
Prior to attending law school, Katie worked as a paralegal for a large litigation firm specializing in complex disputes and high-profile clients, including family law matters. During law school, her work experience included drafting federal regulations to enhance telecommunications infrastructure, creating new compliance policies for the Ohio State University, assisting immigrants in obtaining employment visas and green cards, and helping musicians protect their intellectual property rights. Her passion lies in helping people navigate difficult legal situations and advocating for her clients best interests.
Before joining Griffiths Law, Katie spent a year working in-house for a major electric utility company drafting and reviewing complex commercial agreements. Katie’s experience brings a high level of creativity and adaptability to her practice, along with strong writing and advocacy skills.
Katie is licensed in the State of Colorado and the State of Illinois.
